ABSTRACTIS
The Journal of Abstract and Nonrepresentational Art

Art Star.
Before we recognize an image, we register its color. It sets the tone before we understand the subject, shaping how we feel before we know why. A painting can draw us in or push us away in a matter of seconds, often through color alone. It is immediate, instinctive, and yet far from simple. Color is not just what we see, it is how we experience what we see.

ART ASCENT
Art and Literature Journal
JUNE 2024
The June issue of the Canadian Journal featured a carefully curated selection of artwork and poetry with a focus on abstraction. I am thrilled to have one of my photographs published as part of this juried art call.
Expressionism.
Expressionistic photography transcends the mere recording of the visible world, seeking instead to evoke the emotions, moods, and inner visions of both artist and viewer. At its core, it is a dialogue between light, shadow, texture, and the photographer’s personal lens – a medium for expressing the intangible. This approach to image-making shifts focus from the subject itself to the emotions it stirs, transforming the everyday into something profound and deeply personal.

Tree Stories was a juried international group exhibition at the Sasse Museum of Art in Pomona, California. The show explored cultural symbolism, ecological significance, and personal meanings of trees.
Tree Stories.
This year, we are thrilled to present Tree Stories, a unique and thought-provoking exhibition that delves into the rich narratives surrounding trees. Whether through their cultural symbolism, ecological significance, or deeply personal meanings, trees offer an infinite source of inspiration and reflection. From the roots to the branches, trees connect us to the earth, to each other, and to our collective histories, making them a perfect subject for artistic exploration.
