Description
This multiple exposure photograph explores the theme of autumn through a deliberately abstract approach, emphasizing mood and atmosphere. By positioning fragments of glass in front of the camera lens, I’m able to create compositions that are softly distorted and layered, much like the fleeting and fragmented nature of memory itself. The glass alters the light and shapes in subtle ways, blurring boundaries and encouraging the viewers to engage more intuitively with the image rather than focusing on sharp details.
Autumn serves as a metaphor for impermanence and change. The season is inherently transitional, a moment suspended between the abundant energy of summer and the quiet dormancy of winter. Leaves fall, colors shift, and nothing remains static. I wanted this photograph to reflect that continuous cycle, inviting the viewers to consider not just the visual beauty of fall but also its deeper meaning: the inevitable passage of time and the bittersweet nature of letting go.
The warm, earthy color palette evokes a sense of comfort and familiarity. These colors are intentionally muted and layered, creating a feeling both intimate and universal, a personal reflection on change, memory, and the beauty in impermanence.
